Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 6 March 2026

1. General

1.1

These terms and conditions (“Terms”) apply when you as a consumer (“You”) place an order through plakato.com and its associated pages (the “Website”). The agreement is entered into between You and Appivate AS, organisation number 815 992 482 (“Plakato”, “we”, “us”). These Terms apply only to consumers making purchases through the Website.

1.2

Complete contact details and business information:

Appivate AS
Org.nr: 815 992 482
Øvre Kråkenes 17, 5152 Bergen, Norway
Email: hello@appivate.com

1.3

To place an order on the Website, You must be at least 18 years of age. We reserve the right to refuse or modify orders in individual cases (for example, if incorrect information has been provided).

1.4

We reserve the right to correct image and typographical errors on the Website, including errors in product descriptions, technical specifications, pricing (such as changes from suppliers or currency fluctuations), or stock availability. We may correct such errors and update information at any time. If an incorrect price has been stated for a product You have ordered, we will notify You and await your approval of the corrected price before proceeding.

1.5

The Website and all its content is owned by Appivate AS or our licensors. The content is protected by intellectual property and marketing laws. This means that trademarks, trade names, product names, images, graphics, design, layout, and information about products and services may not be copied or used without written permission from Plakato.

2. Agreement and Ordering

2.1

To make a purchase via the Website, You must accept these Terms. By accepting, You undertake to comply with these Terms in their entirety and confirm that You have read the information about personal data and consented to the use of personal data and cookies as described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

2.2

A purchase agreement is formed when we have confirmed your order and You have received an order confirmation by email. We encourage You to save this order confirmation for any future correspondence with our customer service.

2.3

All products sold through Plakato are custom-made posters and art prints produced on demand. Each item is printed specifically for your order through our fulfilment partner's global network of 140+ production hubs in 32 countries. Because production begins shortly after order confirmation, orders cannot be modified or cancelled once confirmed.

2.4

All product images on the Website are for illustrative purposes. While we strive for accuracy, slight colour variations may occur due to differences in screen calibration and the chemical nature of the printing process. Such variations are within acceptable tolerance and do not constitute a defect.

3. Customer Information

3.1

When completing a purchase, You will be asked to provide certain personal information. You confirm that the information You provide is correct and complete, and You accept responsibility for any incorrectly provided information. Information about how we process personal data can be found in our Privacy Policy.

3.2

You are responsible for ensuring that no unauthorised person can use your account or login credentials. You must not disclose your login details to any third party. You must promptly notify us if You suspect that an unauthorised person has gained access to your credentials.

4. Prices, Fees, and Payment

4.1

The prices stated on the Website apply at the time of ordering. Prices are displayed in the currency relevant to your location and include VAT where applicable. Prices do not include shipping fees, which are calculated and displayed separately at checkout before You confirm your order.

4.2

Payment is processed securely through our e-commerce platform. You can pay using the methods displayed at checkout. Payment is charged at the time of order placement. We reserve the right to not always offer all payment methods, or to change the available payment methods at any time.

4.3

We reserve the right to adjust prices at any time. Price changes do not affect orders that have already been confirmed.

5. Delivery and Shipping

5.1

Orders are produced and shipped by our fulfilment partner through a global network of local production hubs. The majority of products are produced at the facility nearest to the delivery address, which reduces both delivery times and environmental impact.

5.2

Estimated delivery times (including production):

  • Norway: 2–5 business days
  • Europe: 3–7 business days
  • Rest of the world: 5–12 business days

Over 90% of orders are produced and delivered within 5 days. Delivery times are estimates and cannot be guaranteed. You will receive tracking information by email once your order has shipped.

5.3

Shipping carriers are selected based on the destination country and may include DHL, FedEx, Royal Mail, and local postal services. For full shipping details, see our Shipping & Returns page.

5.4

If You have not received your order within 30 business days of the order confirmation (and the delay is not caused by You), You are entitled to cancel the purchase.

5.5

Please ensure your shipping address is complete and accurate. If a package is returned to sender due to an incorrect address, delivery rejection, or being unclaimed, a new order must be placed. In such cases, we will refund the product cost of the new order, though You will need to cover the shipping for the replacement.

6. Right of Withdrawal

6.1

Under the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (Angrerettloven), consumers normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance purchase.

6.2

However, because all Plakato products are custom-made and produced to the consumer's specifications, they are exempt from the right of withdrawal under Angrerettloven Section 22, letter c (goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised).

6.3

This means that once an order has been confirmed and production has begun, it cannot be cancelled, returned, or exchanged. We therefore encourage You to review your order carefully — including product selection, size, and shipping address — before completing your purchase.

7. Quality Guarantee and Complaints

7.1

We stand behind the quality of our products. If You receive a product that is defective, damaged during shipping, or materially different from what You ordered, You are entitled to a remedy under the Norwegian Consumer Purchase Act (Forbrukerkjøpsloven).

7.2

To file a complaint, contact us at hello@appivate.com as soon as possible after discovering the issue, and no later than 30 days after receiving the product. Complaints made within a reasonable time of discovering the issue are always considered to have been made in time. Please include:

  • Your order number
  • A description of the issue
  • Clear photographs of the defective or damaged product
7.3

If our quality assurance team validates your claim, we will either send a complimentary replacement order or issue a full refund. We strive to resolve complaints within 14 days of receipt, though it may take longer depending on the nature of the issue.

7.4

Colour variations that may occur due to the chemical nature of printing (influenced by machine type, paper type, humidity, and calibration) are within acceptable tolerance levels and are not covered under the quality guarantee.

7.5

For packages lost in transit, please contact us within 30 days of the estimated delivery date. We will investigate with the carrier and, if confirmed lost, send a replacement at no additional cost.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1

All content on the Website, including but not limited to images, designs, text, logos, graphics, layout, and product information, is the property of Appivate AS or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8.2

The poster designs available for purchase are licensed to You for personal, non-commercial use only, unless otherwise explicitly stated. Reproduction, distribution, or commercial use of our designs without prior written consent is prohibited.

9. External Links

9.1

The Website may contain links to third-party websites that are outside our control. While we strive to link only to websites that share our standards for privacy and security, we are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or security of external websites. We encourage You to review the privacy policies of any third-party website You visit.

10. Limitation of Liability

10.1

To the fullest extent permitted by Norwegian law, Appivate AS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Website or the purchase of products.

10.2

Our total liability for any claim related to a purchase shall not exceed the total amount You paid for the order in question. This limitation does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under mandatory Norwegian consumer protection legislation.

11. Force Majeure

11.1

We do not accept liability for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to labour disputes, extreme weather conditions, war, fire, natural disasters, terrorism, government actions, technical failures, disruptions to electrical, telephone, or data communications, or delays in services from subcontractors or fulfilment partners due to the aforementioned circumstances.

11.2

If such circumstances persist for more than two months, both You and we are entitled to cancel the purchase with immediate effect, and You will receive a full refund.

12. Dispute Resolution

12.1

Any dispute shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably by contacting our customer service at hello@appivate.com. If an amicable solution cannot be reached, You may contact:

13. Changes to These Terms

13.1

We reserve the right to make changes to these Terms at any time. All changes will be published on the Website. Changes take effect from the time You accept the Terms (in connection with a new purchase or upon visiting the Website), or 30 days after we have informed You of the changes. We recommend that You review these Terms periodically.

14. Severability

14.1

If a competent court or authority determines that any provision of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect to the extent permitted by applicable law. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be replaced by a valid provision that most closely reflects the commercial intent of the original.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

15.1

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway. Any dispute regarding the interpretation or application of these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Norwegian courts, with Bergen District Court (Bergen tingrett) as the agreed venue, unless mandatory consumer legislation provides otherwise.

These terms were established by Appivate AS on 6 March 2026.
